below are a few contributions made during my pm and design journey, so far.

kqed.org/events redesign

The KQED events website redesign was important to fulfill as the organization was gearing for a building reconstruction that would be more open and accessible to the public. The events, memberships, branding and audience development teams were key stakeholders for this redesign. Despite being handed a product to oversee midway, we successfully launched phase one of the website during my time there.

  • Worked with a designer and developers to refine the overall website UX, which was an extension of the experience when using Eventbrite to formerly access KQED events

  • Provided key insights for integrating the Wordpress CMS to our Eventbrite account after spending quality time with stakeholders to learn their workflow for creating and moderating events

  • Led and facilitated consistent and effective planning and retro meetings with stakeholders, designers, and developers to provide clear and transparent updates, actively listen for feedback, and ensure deliverables were on track

 

latinext.media brand identity

The Chicago Reporter is building a collaborative newsroom bureau with Univision Chicago to report on the issues impacting Latinx residents in Chicago and beyond. With no notice, Chicago Tribune’s Hoy was shutdown, leaving the TCR team with less than 48 hours to turnaround a public-facing website to showcase our bureau partnership. We also launched our use of WhatsApp and Intercom to reach Latinx identifying audiences that would otherwise not have access to us as a news source.

  • Sourced, vetted, and integrated WhatsApp and Intercom platforms to provide remote and anytime access to our audiences

  • Worked with the editorial team to build overall brand identity and website assets, including fielding for translations of page text

  • Brainstormed with our senior developer and publisher on most effective and efficient tools to use in order to produce a product in a short turnaround time

  • Created the style guide for to provide a reference and standard for cross platform marketing between partnering newsrooms

  • Provided insight on social media marketing for push

  • Utilized content analytics and conducted internal user interviews to provide comprehensive insights and recommendations to reimagine KQED visuals team workflow. This included taking on a visuals editor role and providing mentorship and editorial judgement to visual interns of the KQED Digital News team

  • Provided KQED News teams metrics dashboards for periodical updates on their published content.

  • Successfully managed my time as a photo editor, photojournalist, and product manager during my time at KQED

  • Received 2020 fellowship with Poynter for its Women’s Leadership Academy program.
